NFS: Undercover rreviewed August 27, 2010 TrafficChess I have enjoyed the Need For Speed games for many years and this game has lived up to the Need For Speed name. The game play is fast paced and the added driving skills make the game play new. The game as a whole is done well and is worth the price for the amount of game play that can be had. The save feature makes this a pick up and play in short spurt's or a hard core long term play, which ever you are in the mood for. I would recomend this game for anyone that is a fan of the Need For Speed games and wants to play in a new city with the free roam style.
Cool Game for the price. August 19, 2010 Ben Einolf (MD, U.S.) I love this need for speed. It has some fun modes. I really love the cars. It's easy to earn them and race a ton of real road tracks. You can earn money very easily from the career modes. And id love to play cops and robbers with more friends. I'd definitely recommend the game to a friend.
What a letdown! August 18, 2010 Future_cpa1 I am going to rip NFS:Undercover for PS 2 a new Arse, so be prepared! I am only 35% + percent way done with the game so keep that in mind. If you are coming from NFS: Most Wanted, you are going to be sorely disappointed. here are the pros and cons of this game for this console:
Pros: Lots o' muscle cars! I love em, you love em, nuff said.
Cash is very easy to get, seems to give more per race than before
The Highway System is expanded
The "Camera System" used when your backing up is brand new and I
actually love using it now, its beautiful! Its kind of like a
reverse camera angle so you can see your car from the front.
For some reason, every NFS game I get, I always find some Great songs
on the soundtrack, and this one is no exception!
Cons: The high speed chases are glitchy and disjointed visually
The Safehouse graphics are the worst I have seen in all PS 2 NFS games!!
Dont bother with the new Patented AutoSculpt feature b/c the
graphics
when looking at any car in the Safehouse are so bad, you cant see
most of it, or the car for that matter! NFS Most Wanted had
beautiful sunlight/light movement and shading for its cars,
it is completely gone here.
NFS Underground had 3 "Upgrade Sets" you could get for each performance
section. They put it in this game, and it is all you can upgrade
your car with performance wise.
Every race I have seen so far (except Stolen Car races- where your
instantly put in a stolen car to outrun the cops and get to the
destination without damaging the car too much) all have strictly
muscle cars racing.
This game reminds me of a "muscle car" take on NFS Most Wanted with
some hints/cues from Fast & Furious 2 in it (ex: the first two
muscle cars for sale are a Challenger and a Camaro.. a little
Ironic)
The lower/downtown streets of the city are completely gone! The only
downtown street left in the entire tri cities area is a city -long
back trashy allyway you can drive. everything else is Highway
Driving. Dont expect to see any normal city streets.
All Car Lots/Safehouses/Upgrade shops in NFS Most Wanted are gone. You
do all that in the Safehouse. No where else.
The graphic designs of the cars both you can buy and in the city itself
are extremely poor quality
They put way too many Video clips in the game/ even though the woman
they used is HOT HOT and they show teaser pics of her in her shorts
The color schemes for your cars are a lot more limited now. They give
you the basic pallet of 15 colors and of each one there are just
a bunch of shades of it.
If your coming to this game from NFS Most Wanted or Underground series,
be prepared for a very easy, linear game. Of all the races I have
done so far (35+), I have only lost one on my first try. Plus, after
every race, you just click two buttons and jump to the next race.
There is nothing in the middle, no depth or real design here. You
can go into Free Roam, but with only a highway system to roam, there
is not much point/gets very boring quickly.
If you hit a cop car, usually it will fly off like paper in the wind and
disappear as if it never existed/ those chasing you fly around you
like they are psychotic and a cop car could never actually move
like. Their movement and behavior in this game is very peculiar and
strange now. Oh by the way, no more spike strips. Just cop cars that
fly off a hundred miles away never to be seen again. I am serious.
Really, I am serious.
I hope NFS Carbon is a lot better than this. If anything we can revel in the NFS muscle car version of Fast and Furious 2 and all its glory. It was one of the best in the series In My Opinion! But be forwarned!
Better you play this on the PS3 August 5, 2010 LividLeon EA has disappointed me with this foolish graphics me and my bro was psyched to play this game. The cars a black and dark there are to much jagged patterns amd lines there's no anti aliasing my ford racing that's on a cd rom had better graphics what EA was thinking when the release a game looking looking like this I'm outrage they can be satisfy why they didn't they use the most wanted graphic engine.
What i realize they do like the PC version you can adjust settings so that game can run on low end PC sacrificing the quality of the games like hot pursuit 2 and underground would look phenomenal on a low end pc at the highest quality but wouldn't be able the run undercover well and it looks horrible due to the graphic engine demanding specs.
Back to the PS2 in a nut shell they scale down the graphics engine that was optimize for ps3 like turning of anti aliasing reducing reflect rate so it can run on the ps2 sacrificing quality because the graphic engine requirement producing a horrible quality.
So in future do research when a game comes out on more than one Sony Console.
NOTE THIS HAVE NOTHING TO WITH SONY AND THERE ARE WELL PORTED GAMES OUT THERE!!!!
title August 4, 2010 Set your pen name the game was really fun, it seemed more of a constant work up through it with not as many places that were REALLY hard and you dint have to try stuff over and over again. i enjoyed it cars are cooler and graphics are better so give it a try!
