Great graphics, realistic gameplay, action packed scenes, online multiplayer, numerous amount of challenges, this game is great fun and I love it.

...I jus ordered this game from amazon.com so this review is for the demo i am playing at the moment. I personally H8 those super realistic driving games where you spend all your time spinning out instead of driving and having fun! I want to drive at top speed while launching weapons at other drivers, thats why i love Mario kart so much. Finally i found this game thru another reviewer on amazon. Unlike mario kart you dont pick up prizes, you get draft points for drafting (to drive or ride close behind another car so as to benefit from the reduction in air pressure created behind the car ahead) behind other cars. Once you have enuff draft points you can trigger events along the track like explosions, demolished structures, helicopters dropping napalm, major airline crashing on you :) etc. Another thing i like is that the racetrack changes during the race. You can open up shortcuts along the way. One thing i dont like bout the game is the option to Drift...this is the kind of game that doesnt need that extra option...i want to race n destroy my opponents not worry bout "drifting"...Hopefully when i get the full game i can add more to this review including the online play...i also recommend buying PS3 Dual Triggers for the ps3 controller because of the faulty design of the R2 button. Read the reviews for PS3 Dual Triggers and you will understand...Have Fun!...

I purchased this game after playing the demo (downloaded free off PSN) and am not sorry I did! It's very fun, addictive, and fast paced action.. with just enough challenges thrown in (like Helicopters firing missiles at you on a time-trial run!) to keep it from being TOO easy. My daughter loved it to, and we did a lot of split screen racing, which was very fun. Graphics are top notch, and the physics are just realistic enough to make it interesting but not to make the learning curve of how to control the vehicle too difficult or frustrating. You can drift (slide) around corners by tapping the brake while turning the wheel, which is how it really works . . . but when you bump (or slam) sideways into a guard rail, it doesn't automatically wreck your car, either... and it's those little bits of forgiveness that make this game very easy to pick up and fun to play!
I do have ONE big complaint about this game, however... well, not really with the gamePLAY, but with the software design. You can't save DIFFERENT seasons for different people! WHAT?? I mean COME ON guys, how hard would it have been to just have a save file system where you pick who you are when you enter "Season" mode, so while I played MY way through the season, somebody else could play THEIR way through it also? And I haven't tried REAL hard yet, but now that I'm done... it seems like I'm not allowed to play through it again from the start??? What's THAT all about! I mean, you can replay any track you've been to, so that's good.. but the cars on the first track are upgraded based on your progress... so you can NOT go back to the first season with your slower cars and play that race again... you have to play it with your fast cars against the computers fast cars... BUMMER.
However, that's not enough to make me poo-poo this game. It was too fun, and worth every penny I spent on it!
Split / Second- Action Packed- Explosive Game July 6, 2010

This is one of my newest collections, I have been now playing this game since the 4th of July Weekend and I am not able to take my hands off of this game, This is kind of addicting. With every next race , you get to be better . The graphics are cool and so is the music.
I would recommend this for every action racing fan.
Go for It.
